Abibitumi.com, the most influential and innovative Black social education site and comprehensive Kmtyw ‘Black people’ Liberation Communiversity online, is about to relaunch its new and improved, Abibitumi app towards the end of this month, August 2022.

Just as the name implies, the Abibitumi App will be a “Black power” tool for connecting Kmtyw ‘Black people’ globally. Soon to be available for download on Android or iPhone, this promises to be a major step forward for the site, which is now only accessible via web browser.

The relaunch now comes during the significant 16th year anniversary of the website’s existence and the fifth year since the founder of Abibitumi.com, Ɔbenfo (Professor) Ọbádélé Kambon, was enstooled as Banmuhene Kyidɔmhene ‘ruler of the rearguard’ in the Akuapem region of Ghana, in a town called Mampɔn.

With the new app, users can look forward to some major upgrades. “We’ll finally have an actual app that’s a mirror image of the website. This one is actually built from scratch. It’ll have live push notifications, intercommunication between members, integrated software, and more,” said Agya Kwadwo Tokunbo, one of the webmasters and foremost members of Abibitumi.com.

Users can also upload photo albums, videos, and blogs, and create groups. It’s a huge step forward for this growing institution.

“If we’re about building up a liberated, Afrikan-centered, digital infrastructure, then our users need to be able to communicate without the browser interface, which can sometimes be incompatible with our site, depending on which one you use. We want direct, real time communication so we can continue to continue the work of education and liberation with those of us who are ready and serious,” said an Abibitumi site Moderator. “The app will be a supplement for us to do that.”

While on the current website users can utilize video conferencing, instant messaging, get push notifications, share photos, videos and documents in real time, the app will offer an alternative means for members of the site to communicate and connect.

“I really like Abibitumi but it’s been hard to keep up. But now with the app, I’ll get additional instant notifications, it’s perfect,” said Nataki Kambon, a long time member of Abibitumi.

The Abibitumi app is set to launch by August 2022. The institution looks forward to all members downloading and using the app once it is made available to the public.

“It’s been some time coming but the wait has been worthwhile. Black people will now have the opportunity to get BlackPowerful information around the globe and from ancient and historic times,” said Okuninibaa (Dr.) Mawiyah Kambon

Ɔbenfo (Professor) Ọbádélé Kambon said “In classical times, we understood that all things are brought into being by sỉꜢ ‘exceptional insight’, ḥw ‘authoritative utterance’ and ḥkꜢw ‘power to make things happen’. From the insight of conceptualizing Abibitumi as an app to the authoritative utterance required to order its creation, its relaunch truly represents ḥkꜢw ‘power to make things happen’. It represents Kala on the Dikènga cosmogram. It represents the idea that existed from ancient times that Kmtyw ‘Black people’ can and should have our own spaces and places where we can communicate, interact, learn, build and be. That is what this app represents. This is why those of us who are really about Abibitumi ‘Black Power’ (rather than just chatting about it on whatsapp) are so excited about the relaunch!”

Look out for updates on how you can download the app and participate in the launch coming up soon!
