i think we need an igbo study group. if anyone is interested or have information to share, post here. lets learn igbo.
in igbo you say 'kedu' to say how are you. kedu is short for 'kedu ka i mere?'
kedu means how.
in igbo culture there are 4 (anọ) days of the week known as market days. the market days are Eke, Orie, Afor and Nkwo.
in igbo you say biko to be polite and say please. biko -bee ko
In Igbo we say 'i boola chi'
to mean good morning. But it says 'have you spread open with the day'
in igbo we say kà chí fóó to mean good night. it is saying 'may the day break'.
one of the ways we say goodbye in igbo is Kà émésị́á. this is like say 'let it be later' or 'let it end'.
in igbo we say ịgọ mmụọ to mean libations or other types of prayers
ndeewo. in igbo, the response to ka chi foo is 'ka ọ bọọ' which means ma morning come
libations and prayers in igbo are referred to as ịgọ mmụọ
in igbo we say 'táàtà' to mean today
