Abibifahodie Abibitumi, I'm in a committee here in Durham to create an Afrikan-centered curriculum, but first we're tasking ourselves to see what materials out there that is already created. In terms of math and history, what books/materials do you use for teaching?

Can we please get some of these materials as well for our homeschool? We've purchased some PDF books and the curriculum for Dr Samori Camara's website but we need as much information as can get.

I'm also looking for material. Especially books you recommend for a child turning 12.

 I would appreciate some recommendation too for my 8 years old son and my 13 years old daughter. I'm also trying, as a mother, to build some materials in French since the francophone community (here in Canada and everywhere I checked) has almost no material at all for Homeschooler Kemit.

Many Thanks

@naakhepry @afron8v

 attended the Liberated Minds Expo and gathered a bunch of resources/vendors that offer African-centered classes in all subjects from pre-school up through 12th grade. My wife and I are embarking on starting this homeschooling journey now with our 11 year old going into sixth grade, and our youngest ones 3 and 4 years old.

Resources & My Notes:

Sister Jessica from Sankofa Homeschool group teaches Geography from ages 4 to 8
and looking to get something started in the Fall as week 2 of the Summer session just completed.

@naakhepry hello there. I noticed you mentioned you are in Canada. Does the Afrocentric home school program you follow study the Canadian curriculum for standard testing and then you add in the Afrocentric knowledge removed link I have a young nephew considering homeschool.

Just wondering if what they are learning is what the province tests for. Very new here so any advice and corrections would be welcome. He has been attending the afrocentric school in Keele & Sheppard.

@wanjikugitau Hotep Sista, My 8 years old is following Kamali Academy now. So it's Afrocentic. Regarding legal requirement here in Quebec, I just needed to buy one book on Canadian and Quebec Social studies for 4th grade to respect the law here.

@naakhepry Really?? That's it. So the rest is pretty standard and your 8 year old is on par as it were with other kids in school? He can take the tests too?

All, I'm trying to help a sistar get her necessary 10 students for the Science class she's teaching starting in September. Ages 8 to 14. Please see if you're interested or can pass it along.

@wanjikugitau Yes, the rest is pretty standard and specially because I choose the PortFolio for the evaluation. For the test, this year my son doesn't have any due to Covid. If he had some, it would be in French for 4th graders (reading, writing and comprehension) and he would need to go take the test as if he was at school.

@naakhepry This is really great information ! Thank you so much. How do you choose or create this Portfolio for evaluation?? I'm very new to this.

Thanks.
