This event will center around the use of Umlabalaba (also known as Zulu Chess) as a tool for Reafrikanization. Similarly to language, games carry the cultural matrices of a people. Grounded upon this reality, Black Foundation member Wesley Cox will discuss the ways in which Umlabalaba can serve as a meaningful complement for the cultivation of one’s African Utamawazo (worldview or culturally structured thought).
