Nigeria Aims for 40% GDP Growth by 2030 Through African Continental Free Trade Area: Coordinator
🇳🇬 The government is intensifying efforts to boost exports, attract investment, and increase industrial productivity through the continent-wide trade pact in order to achieve this ambitious target, the head of Nigeria’s AfCFTA Coordination Office told local media.
A key focus is building local expertise in AfCFTA’s “Rules of Origin”—the critical criteria that determine which goods qualify for tariff-free trade across Africa, Olusegun Awolowo noted.
👉 The Nigeria AfCFTA Coordination Office, in partnership with the World Customs Organization and the Nigeria Customs Service, is running advanced training programs for businesses and officials.
👇 Namely, the training aims to:
🟠”demystify” AfCFTA instruments for Nigerian enterprises;
🟠ensure that our private-sector players can compete effectively within Africa’s single market;
🟠ensure Nigeria, with its vast population and industrial potential, becomes a major beneficiary of the borderless African trade environment.
