Description

Naa Gbewa a prince and Calvary man, who came and established his empire in modern day Ghana, Burkina Faso and Togo. He was the first to introduce Chieftaincy as a system of government in this region, the first King of modern day Ghana. This documentary is about Naa Gbewa, about the roots of his empire, how it grew and finally fell apart. By educating the people about their common history the documentary is meant to promote peace and unity in northern Ghana and Ghana as a whole.

I am the founder of Chaka Orleans Heritage Foundation who’s main aim is to re-document African History and empower the youth through education; to inspire them to take up developmental initiatives. I directed and a produce my first documentary on Naa Gbewa titled ” The Forgotten kingdom? Chronicle of the North.

Director Statement

The history of Africans is often documented by foreigners, which affect the perspective based on their background which is bias. We believe is time Africans lead in the documentation of their history to bring the insiders perspectives on issues, if not a perfect, a better understanding of what they stood for as a people.
