Book Launch – Construction of Black Civilization, Volume I
Book Launch: The Construction of Black Civilization, Volume I
The Construction of Black Civilization, Volume I
By Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Kambon
The official book launch of The Construction of Black Civilization, Volume I introduces a major scholarly contribution to the study of Kmt(yw) self-identification, Black Power, and the deep foundations of Black civilization.
In this work, Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Kambon examines the classical origins of sḥm ‘Black Power,’ Pan-Africanism, and the Dikènga Theory of self-identification as they relate to the Kmt(yw) ‘Black People.’ The book challenges modern assumptions about the origins of Black Power by grounding the discussion in primary evidence from ancient Kmt and in the historical record of Black people’s self-definition, organization, and resistance.
The launch forms part of the broader ABIBITUMI 20th Anniversary Series, connecting two decades of Abibitumi’s institution-building with a major publication that advances the intellectual foundation of the work. The theme, “Construction of Black Civilization,” speaks directly to the need for Black people to study, restore, build, and defend our own institutions, knowledge systems, and ways of being.
Join the book launch on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 7 PM GMT / 3 PM EDT. The final schedule will be confirmed.
