For most Whites, power = the ability to control other races and govern one’s own life w/o out-group hindrance. For most Blacks, power = the ability to govern one’s own life w/o out-group hindrance, absent the need to control other races.
Kwabena and NonMwenSe-
Still kinda thinking about this one. Interesting choice of words.
If you don’t mind, could you elaborate on what you mean by “w/o out-group hindrance”?
-
@NonMwenSe out-groups controlling the in-group’s upward mobility in domains of economics, education, entertainment, health care, labor, law, politics, religion, sex and war.
-
That’s what I was wondering about. Is it a Black perspective to see a separation between the out-groups and the in-groups?
All the domains you pointed to. Isn’t that ultimately the domains of a collective?
In what you say, where does the separation between the in-group and the out-group occur?
-
@NonMwenSe race.
-
Ok. Thought you were saying something such as in-group = Family, out-group = government etc.
In that case, I think that perspective is on point.
The next step for us I think is in realizing the potential pitfalls of said perspective.
