        Alafia to friends and foes!
wanted to ask a crucial question concerning Afrikan liberation….This is the question of Afrikan’s reclaiming their OWN names, not the names of Our traditional enemies and oppressors europeans, arabs (and in many cases sino/asians). 1. Should Afrikan change their names from that of our enemies? 2. Should Afrikans drop the arabized and anglicized portions of their names, for example ‘Hashim Nzinga’, ‘Walter Sisulu’ or ‘John Ali’? 3. How about legally changing one’s name instead of having a ‘nic-name’ – hence Jacob Carruthers (Jedi Shemsu Jehewty)?

I gave a talk last year that speaks to some of these issues. May want to check it out when you get a chance:

Interesting that in order to get an informed answer on so-called Afrikan social media there is a FEE.

Out of our 8000+ members, we would like to once again thank all 45 Afrikans who actually support rather than frittering away their money to our white enemies while expecting to get everything from Afrikan=Black people for FREE! https://www.abibitumi.com/support-www.abibitumi.com/

The problem with changing names is to have people who are used to calling you by the name you want to let go to stop calling you by that name. Nevertheless, I say change it, they will eventually get accustomed.

People will react to you based on what you decide to enforce. If you’re lackadaisical, they will be too. If you are serious, they will be too.

I agree, 100%. Recently adjusting to maneuver a certain kind of way for a “better” reception from others is a testament to that adage.

@kalokoh, Sounds like a promising change. If you can’t change the people around you, change the people around you.
