This kind of sounds like when religious people say what r u gonna say to god when u go before him empty handed, what did u did with ur life I gave u while on earth. Is this how things go in the after life where the Ancestors are?

No, the ancestors are not involved with the after life recycle, this meme is addressing the present before death, our ancestors are always present and can intervene with us in many ways. The ancestors are our help in the spirit realm and once we learn to hear them (nature, dreams and even speech through others messages) and pickup on the signs given, this question of wastefulness can be signified. (The way of the Elders, pg.8-18)
