They gave us one
Thinking they were good samaritans
Not knowing out of us they have gained millions
We were forced to dig a hole
To bury in, was our nation as a whole
They took away our strong sisters and brothers
Bullied our grandfathers and raped our grandmothers
Sat on our success
And said we refused to progress
Tortured and lynched millions
Treated many like animals
Said the melanated man is of no soul
But gave us a book to take us to hevean
Told us to believe in Jesus, a photocopy of Heru
Gave us religion and took away our African Spirituality and Voodoo
Brain washed us to accept everything of African origin to be demonic
But the problem is we refused to read and connect back to our root
Sankofa is still the song in the mouth of our ancestors
