Definition of a Lover of Wisdom (Philosopher) According to Ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) General, Antef:
“‘(He is the one) whose heart is informed about these things which would be otherwise ignored, the one who is clear-sighted when he is deep into a problem, the one who is moderate in his actions, who penetrates ancient writings, who is sensible enough to unravel complications, who is really wise, who instructed his own heart, who stays awake at night as he looks for the right paths, who surpasses what he accomplished yesterday, who is wiser than a sage, who brought himself to wisdom, who asks for advice and sees to it that he is asked for advice’ (Inscription of Antef, 12ty dynasty: Middle Kingdom, 11th and 12th dynasties, 2502-1778 BC)” (Obenga, 1992, p. 58).

Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé, Kwabena and Owanari-
Clear sighted, studious, upright, and humble. I’ll have to look into Akan proverbs to see what lessons can be drawn from them about the “Wise Person” or “Ɔnyansafoɔ.” media ase!
