Sternberg’s Triarchic Theory of Love
According to Dr. Robert Sternberg, there are three forms of love. They include:
1) Intimacy: This refers to friendship.
2) Passion: This refers to sexual attraction.
3) Commitment: This refers to exclusivity.
According to Sternberg, there are 8 combinations of love, and consummate love is the ideal. See the chart below to learn more:
