The story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead is a revised version of Heru (Horus) raising his father, Ausar (Osiris), from the dead. Interestingly, the name , Laz-a-rus is a derivative of the name, Au-sar or Os-ir-is. Lazarus means the (la) Asar (azar) called forth (us) (Harpur, 2004).
