While watching a historical documentary on Ashanti chiefdom I was stunned when I heard the highest chief during an interview say that, “Jesus Christ was his lord and savior”. He said this while attired in full kingly regalia, wrists dripping with
gold bangles and rings, gold and jewel encrusted crown. If the high paramount chief of the Ashanti is a born again Christian then what of traditional Ashanti religion?

      • I’m at the point that nothing insane stuns me anymore. Unfortunately you get used to things that are crazier than any nightmare being just a regular everyday thing. Welcome to isft ‘chaos’…time to restore Ma’at!

Not very surprising at all. Some of the Rulers are not performing traditional religious rites owing to their Christian beliefs. Interestingly, they will be the first to lament that the culture is deteriorating and no one has respect for the stool.

In the spirituality forum, I posted a video of a Queen Mother’s interview with a reporter and here is a brief transcript,

Opanyin: “Ɔsɔfoɔ se ammamerɛ yɛ Abosomsɛm, wo gye tom?” Ɔhemma: “OK, ammamerɛ nnyɛ Abosomsɛm, sɛ wohwɛ Bible mu koraa, Ahenie wɔ Bible mu, nti medeɛ, menhu no sɛ ammamerɛ yɛ Abosomsɛm, because nni Bible mu a san ka yɛnka”

She said that if what they’re doing culturally is not in the bible they will not do it. Really? That’s extremely offensive…..
