From their first meeting 13.8 billion years ago at the start of the known universe, to their second meeting in Ghana in 1999 to reconnecting at the Summer Cooperative African Languages Institute in 2002, the Kambons share a story that intertwines destiny, Grandcestral purpose, and BlackPowerful commitment. As they recount how their paths converged, we see a living example of what it means to practice demonstration over conversation.

Their BlackLove story a model of Abibifahodie ‘Black Liberation’ and Abibitumi ‘Black Power’. With five children and over a decade of marriage rooted in Kmtyw ‘Black People’-centered values, they embody the very principles they teach and live by.


From Abibitumi to Abibifahodie

Ọbádélé Kambon reflects on his lineage of resistance, from ancestors in the UNIA under Nana Marcus Garvey to his parents who modeled self-sufficiency and Abibifahodie ‘Black Liberation’. Out of this heritage came the founding of Abibitumi, the global hub of Black Power thought, language, and liberation.

Mama Kala, likewise, shares her transformation through the teachings of her jegna Mama Marimba, her immersion in Kmtyw ‘Black People’ spirituality, and her role as the first registered member of Abibitumi when it was still Abibitumi Kasa.

Together, they present a living testimony of how love, family, and revolutionary commitment must remain inseparable in the fight for Black liberation.
