Group Description
🎬 Welcome to the Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival (AAFF) Group
reKmtizing the Narrative | Weaponizing Visual Liberation | Honoring Cinematic Warriors
This is the official group space for the Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival (AAFF) & Awards, where we celebrate, build, and organize around Black Power in film. If you’re a filmmaker, visual storyteller, student of history, or lover of cinema rooted in the worldview of Abibifoɔ (Black People)—you’re in the right place.
🛠 Our Mission:
To uplift and amplify films, documentaries, and media productions that are created by, for, and about Black people—centered in our truth, languages, culture, and Abibifahodie (Black Liberation). This is not entertainment for escapism. This is cinema as a cultural weapon.
🌍 What We Do in This Group:
✅ Share updates on the Abibitumi Film Series and Film Festival
✅ Announce screenings, premieres, and Q&A sessions
✅ Feature submissions from global Black filmmakers
✅ Discuss themes of Maat vs. isft in media and storytelling
✅ Promote visual content that restores the legacy of Km.t and the Kmtyw
✅ Connect directors, cinematographers, editors, writers, and visual griots
✅ Build alliances with those using film as a front in the mental and cultural war
🏆 About the Festival:
The Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival (AAFF) & Awards is a global celebration of cinematic warriors telling our stories from our worldview. We honor excellence in:
Black Historical Documentaries
Revolutionary Fiction & Narrative Film
Youth & Community Storytelling
Language, Identity, and Reclamation Films
Visionary Cinema in the Spirit of Abibitumi
📢 Call to Action:
This group is for active participation. Post your trailers, ask questions, share behind-the-scenes photos, organize screenings, and promote your revolutionary work. Let us know who’s doing it right—and what we must support.
🖤🎥 Join us in building the future of Black storytelling—rooted in truth, guided by Maat, and powered by Abibitumi.
