Paper is in two parts. First part is about economic theory (institutionalist school), while the second goes over the bureaucracy built in Botswana to combat illegal financial activities. While it gets very detailed in parts, there is some interesting information throughout.

Berlin conferences transfer of colonies did not let Africans negotiate the structure or boundaries. A fairly technical paper which goes through the various Western economic theories about growth and development. The author (Yves Ekoué Amaizo) deconstructs these models and shows why they haven’t worked for African countries. He argues for “Africa-centered Pan Africanism” as the focus of our economic theories.
