Within these past two years, I have noticed a rise in Black women going back to the “creamy crack”, wearing weaves (costly ones at that!) and obsessing over “laying edges”.
I wonder to myself: are so many of these women doing this for the aesthetic as they say? Or is there a much deeper problem? What is the issue?

What are some things that you do for self-care?
For myself, I have been taking more naps, lighting incense and trying to form a communication with my ancestors.

I journal, read, listen to music, try to be in nature, and I no longer force myself into areas in which I dont or am made to feel that I dont belong.
