This wont win me any ‘brownie’ points, but lots of diaspora go to Afrika because it’s ‘trendy.’ They see other YouTubers videos of showing shopping malls and other western ‘amenities’ in Afrika so now every body wants to *bleep bleeping* go. Many Afrikan conscious westerners have gone to Afrika for travel and or to repatriate way before this ‘YouTube’ movement. They had to make adjustments, but are still living on the continent. Many diaspora have to rid themselves of the ‘junk’ we’ve acquired from years in the West and being indoctrinated against Afrika via negative media and other forms of miseducation. I personally dont think every black westerner should go to Afrika not unless they habe undergone years of ‘detox’ from being westernized. Yes, I stand by this stance even though I risk offending many. But better to know now than to go ‘over there’ and learn the hard way.
