In re-listening to Tony Martin’s Race First…what happened to all the UNIA businesses and jobs that once existed? That economic self-reliance was critical. 5 Comments-
Aside from sabotage of the major business, the star line, what about the small businesses. Were those abandoned? Past on? Sold?

I know there were some UNIA businesses in your area so that’d be a good spot

Excellent question. I always thought why has no one thought of the concept of Black Star Airlines (A Pan-Afrikan airline) travelling from Afrika to the Caribbean and South America.

A specific study needs to be done on this. But from what I know, much UNIA-ACL property was confiscated by the USA government under various guises. I believe the Liberty Hall in Philly was held for some time and Carlos Cooks kept some of the business alive in Harlem during the 50s/60s. But due the “Great Depression” and the subsequent Mass European war, many went bankrupt or were marginalised to the point of ineffectiveness. I will as the elders and see if they have more specific info. -
	Meda ase, dat mek sense
