@kevlew The Black Jacobins is fundamentally a marxist (trotskyist, dialectical) class analysis of the Haitian Revolution. Nana C. L. R. James situates the uprising within Atlantic capitalism’s contradictions and maps contending forces—grand blancs, petit blancs, gens de couleur libres, the enslaved Kmt(.y.w), and rival empires—showing how their clashes drove events.
