So the word “Negro” is an adjective that means black in Portuguese and Spanish. When the Slave trade began the adjective became a Noun and the legitimate name of a group of enslaved people. Portuguese and Spanish derives from Latin and Latin has its roots in classical Greece. Most European languages black is associated with death.
