This study aims to address combating cultural imperialism and cultural misorientation to preserve Afrikan=Black intangible cultural heritage, emphasizing that indigenous Afrikan=Black people must lead this agenda. Using the 2019 UNESCO-ICM Open School as a case study, the paper examines efforts (or lack thereof) to counter these issues.
