I need assistance from linguists and Mdw nTr students et al
The word “Bantu” I know it to be a Zulu word that translates to “People” in English. The prefix “Ba” is usually applied to indicate plurality, in this case, the word to which it applies would be “ntu”. So I ask: who are the Ntu? The real question I am asking is: where is the word “Bantu” attested?
Similarly, the words, ubuntu/botho are descriptive words that translate to “humanity or manners” in English as in “a ke o tephe botho” in seSotho, which translate to “give yourself humanity” or “be humble” or “behave yourself” etc.. Where are they (uBuntu or Botho) attested?
