Fulani women and their markings any information of this tribe?
-
The Fulani are descended from North and sub-Saharan nomadic Africans. They eventually moved to many West African areas. The Fulani were largely responsible for the spread of Islam throughout West Africa. They are still nomadic.

Derrick, you are welcome. And I appreciate you bringing up the Fulani. There has been some interesting news about them lately challenging anti-grazing laws.

In addition to what Shade has said, they are a large ethnic nomadic group as well as linguistic found throughout West Afrika but principally in the Sahel from Sudan to Senegal and they are all under one umbrella of the Fula or Fulbe tribe. The left picture is a Fulani and the right is a Woodabe Derrick as they are referred to by different names that is according to other proximate ethnic and linguistic groups. I will explain more in a later post. Therefore in regards to their tattoos, firstly represent their cultural identity as well as also beautification as they have very high standards from their face to all over their body, but there are still some of their tattoo designs that are unclear. Thank you too for your post Derrick.
