Those celebrities are not interested in benefiting the locals. I believe they are doing this for show, just to deceive their followers. I always remind myself who gives them their funds: jews. Also, interesting to see how much money the Ghanaian economy earned from the year of return initiative, but it has not been channeled to infrastructure improvement, job creation, etc. I shouldn’t expect anything different from colonial administrator coons running a neo-colonial cage for their masters.

I see it as largely positive, I’m happy to my Brothas and Sistas from the diaspora travel to Ghana or Africa. Furthermore, I’m seeing more African Americans I know repatriate to Ghana. A couple we came with last year, repatriated to Ghana. I didn’t expect that to happen so soon. 😆
My wife told me her colleague bought a house in Ghana and is there at least 3x a year and rents it out when she’s not there.
My neighbors stepson is planning to move to Ghana and he just finished school.
Whether these Brothas and Sistas are immersing themselves properly in the Ghanaian culture is another topic, but at least they’re out of the US.-
Leadership is the problem and bad at just about every level, so it’s no surprise that they lack vision and a plan to maximize the benefits of tourism dollars.
