@kevlew I’ve searched for the term ‘Melanin’ in mdw ntr and really found a mdw ntr translator that has it: the site ‘medu.ipetisut.com/index.php?og=melanin’ translates ‘Melanin’ to

I did not expect to find it so fast. Did you know about mdw ntr translators? ..how correct might their translations be..?

These are toys so you can “phonetically” write your name and the like using mdw nTr “symbols.” If you type in anything, it will give you the uniliterals to spell that word out.

Is it not KM-WR? That is the name I’ve heard it reffered to by DR. RKHTY AMEN, and a plethora of other scholars. Not sure how that’s written though.

I’ve seen modern scholars do this. In primary texts, I see Km-wr as a locality that was later referred to by the greeks as Aθλιβις ‘Athribis/Arthribis.’ Have you come across any primary texts where Km-wr is used as melanin is used today?

Not at all, just trusting our experts and elders work until I develop my own studies. I wonder why Km-Wr would be used if it is indeed a city, there was an entire conference held in 88′ where Km-Wr was synonymous with melanin.
My short findings say Km-Wr/ Athribis was a city in lower kmt who’s prominent neteru was Repyt which seems like a latter name for Sekmet.

What this has to do with melanin and why scholars choose it remains unclear

***the sources I found on km-wr = Athribis were german

They probably selected the term for the locality because it literally translates to ‘great Black’. It would just need to be made explicit what the primary texts say and how Afrikans are deciding to use it today.
