In Nigeria, a number of Ife Terra-Cotta copper sculptures (ca.1100 A.D pictured below) and Owo Terra-cottas (ca.1400 A.D) depict also elaborate scarification patterns, some closely resembling 19th and 20th such as the Yoruba marks.
