Carrying a baby especially on the back with a loincloth (or another type) is another ancient African tradition. With this method of carrying everyday daily duties can be carried out as well as preserve the back through the distribution of the weight of the child. Also importantly this method connects mother/father to child (to his or her contact,) it is filled because it is what the child seeks all the time.
In this position, a child’s sensory functions are stimulated, they discover the world while being protected. Also their spine and head are toned much more quickly and this facilitiates the falling asleep of the child. Like breastfeeding, the Afrikan style port allows the child to share emotional bonds, vibrations and energies with their wearer (mother, father, brother, sister).
Moreover, numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the importance of intensive carrying, since the 1950’s studies have been carried out and have shown that emotional stimulation is as indispensable as that of language for the development of different structures of the brain and earlier development is observed in infants.
