Afrikan indigenous healing traditions always believe in the importance of connecting to the Earth and its energy. For thousands of years, our ancestors walked barefoot and in addition slept on the ground, the Earth was familiar to them. This ancient tradition led to years of extensive research from the western lens and from this research the findings /conclusions has shown that connecting to the Earth’s natural energy by walking barefoot may it be on grass, sand, dirt or rock has great health benefits.
It is hugely beneficial against stress, anxiety, blood circulation, avoiding back problems, diminish chronic pain and fatigue and many other aliments that plague so many people today. The process of absorbing Earth’s free flowing electrons from its surface through the soles of ones feet our ancestors knew had life long health benefits. They knew that our feet are kind of a second brain to our body with sensory sensors that is linked to all organs of the body.
95% of us today walk isolated from the Earth with rubber soles and electricity accumulating in our bodies which can be difficult to discharge. Known as “Earthing” or “Grounding” by taking the time to walk barefoot and reconnecting electrically to Earth with its negative ions and fight free radicals can keep us in optimal health.

Elder Mutabaruka has been barefeet for over 40 add years. I admire his discipline & being consistent in staying grounded.

Yes Ekow he truly is and a very dear friend of my father. In fact Prophet Muta became popular not only for his radical / conscious lyrics but also because of his barefeet walking especially when stage performing from a very young age. Ekow hope all is well, thank you for taking valued time to read and be sure to continuing having a productive and peaceful week…much love always.

Yeh man respect for d week blessings & I wish for u d same for the d weekend & beyond. I’m always intrigued by Elder Muta’s reasoning also Prof I, they go way back and they r the true representation of indigenous Rastafari which taught many Jamaicans of their Afrikan roots. Their version of Rastafari livity deals with nature and our place in the universe, defiance to eurasians & liberation of Afrikan ppl. But some fashion Rastas now a days r very inclusive and allowing other ppl in d movement, which is painting a bad picture for Rastas & somewhere along d line some Rastas have got caught up in d jew, islam & christian mindset.

Our Rastafarian faith knows that salvation rests in ones own known destiny. Never worry about traitors Ekow, “deep connection” is what defines Afrikan faith and cannot ever be doubted or duplicated, their judgement is soon coming. Continue to pursue sovereignty over neo colonial subservience.
