Northern Sotho Proverb:
” A river runs deep because of it’s source.”
Where the very meaning of this proverb relates to hold in high regard to parents and elders and their influence in a child’s life. This proverb also means that the depth of one’s life is related to the individuals consciousness and living out of their life purpose. Where there is purpose, there is no failure because when you follow the river you find the sea, When one sticks to their purpose they will never get lost.Every child is and should be told they are unique but explained to them that the difference between leaders and followers is often determined by the differences in their levels of consciousness. Leaders are the ones who have taken the trouble to detect what it is they were born for, while most of the times followers do not take this trouble. At the same time, the ability to detect, to identify and cultivate ones purpose is not for a selected few. The followers who takes the trouble to detect their life purpose is no longer a follower, he or she is a leader, in his or her own right….everyone has a purpose.
The question is whether the individual will take the trouble to introspect and look into oneself to discover their purpose. Every great person was at one time an “ordinary” person therefore goes through this very same process but it is the discovery and cultivation of one’s purpose that always makes the difference. Therefore the essence of self development is the awakening of the consciousness of one’s purpose in life and systematically ordering one’s steps according to those demands. All great leaders testify that their journey began with the detecting of their life purpose.
Destiny then arrives and is their road map written for them.
