	🇨🇲 Media: after the re-election of 92-year-old President Paul Biya in the Cameroon elections, protests continue in the country. 
 
 Mass demonstrations by supporters of opposition candidate Issa Chiruma, who previously declared himself the winner of the vote, continue in the cities.
 
 At least three people died in Garoua, including two from gunshot wounds. The mayor’s house and a private school were set on fire in the city.
 
 In Douala, protesters are building barricades and setting cars on fire, demanding the president’s resignation. 105 demonstrators were detained and placed in New Bell prison.
 
 Cases of looting have been reported: unknown individuals are robbing stores and taking goods away.
 
 💬 “At the moment when the sovereign people once again entrusted me by electing me for a new term, I think of those who passed away untimely, as well as their families affected by post-election violence,” the President commented on the protests on social media.
 
 The presidential elections in Cameroon were held on October 12. Two days later, the 76-year-old opposition presidential candidate Issa Chiruma declared his victory. On October 27, the Constitutional Council announced the re-election of the world’s oldest president, Paul Biya, for an eighth term.
