Ghana Needs to Bridge Research Gaps to Become Leading Food Producer in Africa, Says Agriculture Minister
🇬🇭🌱 The disconnect between scientific research and practical farm application is a major obstacle to agricultural growth, according to Minister Eric Opoku.
“For decades, many of the research findings in agriculture have remained on shelves, unseen by farmers and unutilized by industry,” the minister said during the National Farmers’ Day celebration.
👉 Opoku expressed optimism that the newly established Government Research Fund would accelerate transformation by ensuring outputs reach end-users.
Describing Ghana as a country “endowed with enormous agricultural potential,” the official emphasized that investment in agriculture yields exponential returns in food security, jobs, and national stability.
