Ethiopia’s Banana & Avocado Exports Generate $38 Million Over Five Years: Ministry

A total of 91,320 tonnes of bananas and avocados have been exported, primarily to Djibouti, Somalia, and Middle Eastern countries, the Ministry of Agriculture announced.

The market share of the products:

From 72,599 tonnes of banana production, $25 million has been obtained.

From 18,721 tonnes of avocado production, $13.7 million in revenue has been obtained.

To further increase avocado production, the government has reportedly prepared a 15-year national avocado development roadmap that has already entered into implementation.
