Burkina Faso and Ghana Sign Security and Trade Cooperation Accords
🇧🇫🤝🇬🇭 The agreements were signed following talks between the Burkinabé Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo and a Ghanaian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister’s office stated.
Key agreements include:
🟠 mutual recognition of national driving licences to facilitate the movement of goods and people;
🟠 cross-border cooperation framework;
🟠 joint disaster management mechanisms;
🟠 cooperation on combating drug trafficking;
🟠 enhanced security cooperation, including intelligence sharing, training and counterterrorism coordination.
The two countries intend to translate their commitments into concrete actions for the benefit of their citizens, united by history, geography, and a shared determination to build a future of peace, security, and shared prosperity, the office noted.
