How I see it is if we were to rethink African cities, we would need a complete overhaul and not accomodating what is currently happening which is really a second grade imitation of eurasia. It is not authentically African as the author tries to portray-
My understanding was that residents are already changing these colonial style cities to fit their needs in significant ways. So any rethinking would take into account what people are already doing. Hopefully the research is made public so it can be widely studied.
