It was the british who mapped global time zones. London sits at the centre of the world because it placed itself there when it drew the prime meridian, where east meets west. The line in greenwich represents the historic prime meridian of the world – Longitude 0º. Every place on earth was measured in terms of its distance east or west from this line. The line itself divided the eastern and western hemispheres of the earth – just as the equator divides the northern and southern hemispheres.

There are fifty participants in this study, the participants from Islamic student of Jagad Alimussirry Islamic boarding school. The result of this study shown that the majority of Islamic students have a strong understanding of the earth shape and the position of the earth center, which is viewed from the perspective of science and Islam. Most of respondents have an understanding that the shape of the earth is globe with its central position in the city of Mecca
