The Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville) will officially waive visa requirements for citizens of all African nations January 1, 2027. President Denis Sassou Nguesso announced the policy during Africa Day celebrations in Brazzaville, aiming to promote continental integration and boost regional trade.
"As from the first of January 2027, nationals of all African countries will have visa-free access and will no longer need a visa to come to Congo," he said, urging countries to move beyond "selfishness and nationalism" and deepen regional integration through practical implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
While this makes the country one of a growing number of African states easing border restrictions, the government has not yet released the specific terms of the policy, such as the allowed length of stay or entry requirements.
