        Abibitumi Abibifahodie!!

The universe is indeed somehow intertwined, echoing the wisdom of our ancestors.

Today’s food for thought “Have you ever thought of how similar life is on every side of this realm? “

For instance, consider how similar storytelling cuts across Akan Ananse Stories, Yoruba Ìjàpá Tales, and the Dikenga Theory.

This in-depth piece explores Akan Ananse and Yoruba Ìjàpá stories through the lens of the Dikenga theory, a Bakongo cosmogram. It reveals the cyclical patterns in these tales, reflecting a shared African worldview that transcends ‘storylines’ and ‘timelines,’ revealing the deep connections within our cultural heritage. How can ancient cosmologies inform our understanding of the world today?

Does anyone relate to this? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the power of storytelling and the wisdom of our traditions across continents.

Thank you for the share, i look forward to checking this out. While our language has shifted, we, Kmt(yw)-Black People, are one people. I love it when the connections all across Kmt are made. It reinforces the need to re-unify Kmt.

I believe you’re right. There is a common conceptual framework that courses through these folktales across different regions of the continent. I see it as a vital methodology for understanding our heritage, affirming our identities and molding the environments which we inhabit. They also serve as vital means of conveying traditions, morale, and values to the upcoming generation. Abibifahodie.
