“Accepting homosexuality simply because it is in the family is too
simplistic a solution for an intelligent people. Many of us grew up
in the same household with individuals who were accused of and
served time for serious felonies. That does not compel us to take
up a life of crime. Too many of us have had our blood contaminated
by European rape. But we do not, or at least should not, condone
the rapist. All of us are biologically linked to negroes, or
someone who physically or mentally abuses their spouse or tortures
themselves with legal and/or illegal drugs. That should not guide
us to become negroes, mentally or physically abuse our loved ones,
or destroy our minds and bodies with drugs. Loving a relative is
not the same as loving or embracing what s/he does. Just because
you love a relative does not mean you are supposed to embrace what
they do, or go out and do what they do. Loving the person is not
the same as loving or liking what s/he does. That’s like assuming
that because you have a son or daughter, or brother or sister, who
is a prostitute that you should love prostitution, and/or accept or
pursue it as a worthy occupation. That’s like assuming that because
you have a family member in the military you should support Western
wars against the world. On the other hand, obviously, most people
have an Afrikan warrior scholar in their family. Yet, they are not
embracing it or, ofttimes, even him or her. So what is the criteria
being used to pick and choose those more unpopular (undesirable)
qualities we select to embrace or try to become like. Obviously,
they are those which will make for an easier assimilation into
whiteness. Those socialized and/or genocultural qualities or
personality traits which encourage and facilitate Afrikan manhood do
not. Those which de-emphasize it at least offer the possibility.
We must remember that mentacidal conditions are the result of
illnesses created within the constraints of white supremacist
culture. The choices Afrikans make occur within these constraints.
As we know, if you swim in a sea of perversity you are bound to get
wet. Therefore, if for no other reason, we should never argue that
these behaviors should be embraced by the Afrikan community just
because there is a number of family members whom are mentacidal
enough to think or act that way.”
