5 years agoAbibitumi Movies and Documentaries Ma’at Hotep, family! I’ve often wondered why none of our “conscious” documentary film makers have proposed a documentary film series based on the book “The Destruction of Black Civilization” by Dr. Chancellor Williams. We’ve had projects like “Eyes on The Prize” by Henry Hampton and “The Africans” by Ali Mazrui.,but both of these projects suffered from their own hidden agendas. Imagine a 10 or 12 episode documentary series based on the seminal work of Dr. Chancellor Williams. Now, imagine such a project being funded exclusively by the global Afrikan community through donations and Crowdfunding. And also imagine such a project being distributed world wide with subtitles in 400 languages. I believe such a project could have a massive global impact on the thinking within Afrika and the diaspora. Or how about a feature film based on the life of Marcus Garvey? What do you think?

I think it would be an aggressive and rewarding project that will deeply affect the psychology of the Blacks World Wide. The powers to be & house Negros, dump tons of video, music and literature on the Blacks for less mental and power gain, but insurmountable Media for monetary and mind crippling of Blacks. I believe as Malcolm X said “By any means necessary”. We must awaken our own Strategically.

A movie on Nana Nzingha would also be powerful.

I would especially love to see the historical scene portrayed where Queen Nzingha meets with a portuguese official (or maybe it was the king of Portugal) and he didn’t show her the respect of providing a seat for her. One of her male warriors got down on all fours so, that his queen would have somewhere to sit. Just think of it……these Afrikan men and women whom queen Nzingha went into battle with would sacrifice their lives, let alone their dignity for her. That scene alone would be worth the price of admission. It’s hard to believe that there was a time when Afrikan men and women would sacrifice and die for each other without hesitation. Just think about the psychological impact of seeing this on the big screen would have on the global Afrikan psyche.
