      Today is the first day of Carnival in Trinidad. This morning was officially Jouvay morning.

      Kambule is the ritual that preceeds and opens the Carnival. It is a Ritual that observes and celebrates the Anti Colonial Rebelion led by Joe Talmana in thd late 1800s.

      This year, the Kambule Movement have taken the observance in line and have created a Ritual-Film, Complete with interviews with those involved.

      Carnival and its related Rituals is one of the greatest testimonies to the preservation of Afrikan Spirituality in the diaspora. It is also one of the greatest testimonies to our resistance in the face of Colonialism & enslavement.
