              @Kwaku_Uhuru It’s only because I look up Maroon stuff that I became aware of it tbh. But most people doing linguistics research in Jamaica have some awareness or people who visit maroon communities. But that backra-created tension between Kromanti ‘maroons’ and Kmtyw ina Jamaica is the root of it (in my opinion/suspicion)

                Ah, that’s interesting. My family’s land is in Trelawny, most of what I learn is from oral storytelling in that region. If you could point me in the direction of any text or research, that would be much appreciated.
