In my ten-plus years of running a small business loan program, I’ve found that the most important element in a business plan is a company’s go-to-market strategy. My most successful clients were able to demonstrate through market research (surveys, interviews, competitive analysis) how they were going to get people to buy their products or services. Projections are secondary.
