Good Day Sister Kala. My suggestion, for a High School Level Student studies in Science, should be focused on the student’s future career path. If the student’s path will be college University bound, then the student should search and download the college course requirements for the specific program of study. Then, find a syllabus online that is has close to the course has possible, and duplicate the reading and vocabulary studies. The student should listen to college lectures online, and practice understanding and taking notes.
If a student is not college bound, but tech-school focused, science coursework should be focused on a syllabus from a tech -school requirement. Again do an online search for a syllabus, then try to duplicate the reading assignments, vocabulary study, and writing. And practice listening to lectures and taking notes. Practice reading textbooks.
Finally, if the high school student is not college or tech school bound, science curriculum should be focused on local and world environmental science that includes growing in local soil, improvement of natural resources of the community, and the ability to teach younger children science lessons. (This is prep for being the first teacher/parent at home) This would include a review of science terms, famous African Diaspora Scientist, and science field of studies that is needed in African and African Diaspora communities. And, knowledge of natural plants of healing for families. This student can prepare a portfolio of pictures and information to be saved in prep for parenting/teaching children about science.-
The portfolio should include pictures and listings of science books for preschoolers, and elementary students. (again preparing for the first teacher/parent at home)
