Some thoughts,
– Electrical equipment, appliances & components exports increased 3x’s year over year. In short, if you got hook-ups in this sector you might be interested in exporting.
– Food manufacturing is up 23% year over year.
– Primary metal manufacturing defined by BLS as a subsector smelt and/or refine ferrous and nonferrous metals from ore, pig or scrap, using electrometallurgical and other process metallurgical techniques. The exports in this sector jumped 133% year over year.
– I’m not sure why Ag imports dropped 23X’s in 2016 but it’s back up in 2017.
– The biggest shock to me is the Fish, Fresh/Chilled/Frozen sector. Fish exports from US to Ghana is up 1,226% year over year. Ghanafoɔ pɛ nsuonam dodo!

Agya Kwadwo, excellent point! Traditionally amongst the Akans, we did not fish on Tuesdays, which gave the environment a break. Today with 24-7 commercial fishing we have reduced our supply of fish adversely impacting our economy.
