respect! respect! Miles Davis was always my go to haha But I listen to all the greats!! Dizzy, Satchmo, The Duke, kwk. As of late I’ve been exploring the AfroBrazilian Jazz scene. we had some influential brothers like Nino Rivera, Julio Gutierrez, Cachao kwk.

I must recommend you listen to African Jazz starting with Guinea. I’ve posted a few in the group.
Sekou Toure (First President) quickly created the famous record company “Syliphone Records” after recently gaining independence in order to restore the self-esteem of the Natives after the unethical Eurasian invasion. Toure had spent time in Cuba and the Jazz from Syliphone Artists blend the cultures perfectly.

I’ll definitely check it out! It’s phenomenal how Afrikans throughout the Diaspora developed Jazz and used it to make some of the most beautiful music compositions in the world. There is a genius within the Afrikan people!
