Dɔkono is a food in Ghana made of maize. I wonder if it was originally made of sweet potatoes since those are indigenous to Afrika, while maize is not. Maybe the original was preserved there.

Not quite sure but thats possible. These things r found in deep rual Jamaica where some aspects of indigenous Afrikan livity is still maintained.
