Life has been well life! However I am pushing through. I met a someone. We have been rocking for a few months now. She is Ghanaian haha. Well technically Liberian however she grew up in Ghana and moved to the states when she was early 20’s. Working towards planning a trip to Ghana. All in all, I am well. How has Corona affected your area? Everything here is shut down. Mass panic and hysteria have people going crazy. We have lost some constitutional rights, like the right to assemble and in my state they are enforcing social distancing policies.

Situation Update, Confirmed Covid-19 Cases In Ghana As At 26 March 2020, 10:00 Hr
As at the morning of 26 March 2020, a total of fifty-four (54) cases including three (3) deaths have been confirmed from the regular surveillance systems. All the three (3) cases that unfortunately succumbed to the disease were aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions. All the other fifty-one (51) cases are well; fourteen (14) are being managed at home and the rest are responding well to treatment on admission in isolation. They are awaiting their test results and will be discharged when the results are negative.
The great majority of the confirmed cases are Ghanaians, who returned home from affected countries. Seven (7) are of other nationals namely: Norway, Lebanon, China, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom (UK). The number of confirmed cases among travelers under mandatory quarantine who have been tested is seventy-eight (78).
In respect of contact tracing, a total of 970 contacts have been identified and are being tracked. Out of these, two hundred and four (204) have completed the 14 days mandatory follow up.

Thank you for the update. This makes me wonder why the U.S. is pushing this social distancing. Even in densely populated areas such as Ghana, the low number of deaths, and even those infected do not really warrant this level of mass hysteria. The human body is a petri dish for bacteria, viruses, fungi, and microbes, and other microorganisms. Our immune system was designed to protect us against infection and fight these microscopic threats. This is the main reason why I am an advocate of self care. I believe as long as we nurioush our bodies, exercise, sleep well, drink water, avoid drugs and alcohol etc. our bodies will take care of itself as it was designed to do.

@njadaka92, you can stay up to date on the Ghana situation here: https://ghanahealthservice.org/covid19/ I was saying this is the fundamental alienation virus in that people are encouraged to be alienated from each other.

That’s great on your complement that you’ve found. Hopefully we can meet at some point when you come to Ghana.

Thank you, and that is the plan! Looking forward to learning capoeira, seeing the progress of the Kamali Education system, and enriching myself on the concept of Ma’at. Your teachings on reAfrikanization awakened something dormant in myself. It’s hard to explain, however I feel that there has been a shift in my consciousness. Even the concept of Ma’at, it articulates eloquently the desires within me. As I came into consciousness I understood that is my purpose; to exact restorative justice or Ma’at.

That’s what’s up @njadaka92. Dr. @SCamara who runs Kamali went back to krakkkaville about a year or so ago, but we’re still going strong with Abibifahodie Adesuabea that we set up together. I’m glad to hear that my teachings have had an impact, more so on your behavior and life trajectory. It’s not enough just to know, but the knowledge must be acted upon.

Where the children pretty open to learning from this system? How did you propose this idea to the parents in your community?

The children were. The parents tended to be here and there with it.

I want to present this education system to parents who have children of high school age, whom are currently failing out of school. Living in the US, most of our children are very much colonized. A problem that I for see, is that even if the parents are on board, getting students that age to want to engage with this type of education system can be troubling; especially if the are skipping and failing out of regular school. Being an educator yourself, what are ways that you could suggest to incentivize or promote to this African teenagers who consider themselves amerikkkan?
